Governor

District Governor Susan Drake is a member of the Rotary Club of Stockton which she joined in 1995. She served as President 2004-05, Assistant District Governor 2006-07 and has been her Club Secretary since July 2005. Susan was District Secretary for two years 1999-2001 and served as District Membership Co-Chair and Vocational Services Chair.

Susan has been an Edison High School Interact Advisor since 1995 and has lead the Stockton area playground project to Mexico since 1996. Susan has been honored with her club's Silent Rotarian Award and Avenues of Service Award two different years. She is a graduate of Leadership Stockton, District 5220's Leadership Academy and is a Major Donor and member of the Paul Harris Society.

Susan was born in Trail, British Columbia. Her grandfather Herb Clark was President of the Trail Rotary club and District Governor. Her father John Lunney was a member of Trail Rotary, later joined the Madera, then Merced, Oakhurst Sierra and Stockton East Rotary Clubs. He was President of Merced Rotary and District Governor of 5220 in 1973-74.

Susan retired as a manager for five San Joaquin County State of California Employment Development offices where she had been employed 35 years. She graduated from Merced High School and Fresno State.

Susan has been married to Dudley Drake since 1968. Dudley is a member of Stockton Delta Rotary which he joined in 1984. He was President of his club twice 1988-89, and 2008-09. Dudley and Susan have two sons, Brian of Torrance and Steve of San Ramon. Brian is married to Liz and they have a daughter Allison. Steve has a son Darren.

Susan and Dudley are both very active in their community especially with youth activities. Susan is vice chair of Goodwill Service Connection, a board member of the San Joaquin County Workforce Investment Board and Youth Council. Susan and Dudley have hosted a long term youth exchange student from Brazil, several short term exchange students and GSE team leaders or members.
