District Governor Elect Dave Mantooth is a charter member of Escalon Sunrise(1991), and has served on the board for 17 years, serving twice as Club President . He has served as District Treasurer, District Interact Chair, twice as Assistant Governor, and chair of two District Conferences and a Foundation/Membership Seminar. In addition, he has served on a number of district committees plus as a RYLA counselor, an Interact Advisor, and  club and area speech contests Chairman.

Internationally, Dave has traveled to the Philippines to oversee a matching grant, to Kenya as part of Project Hope, to Ethiopia as part of a National Immunization Day, and seven times to Mexico as part of Rotary/Interact trips to install playground equipment. Dave’s family has also been very active in Rotary. He has been married to wife Sally since 1977, and she is an Honorary Member of Escalon Sunrise. Family members have been active in a wide range of Rotary, Rotaract and Interact projects domestically and internationally.

Dave is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Paul Harris Society; Sally, Jessica and Duncan are Paul Harris Fellows; and Dave and Sally are Major Donors, Benefactors, and members of the Bequest Society.

Dave is a graduate of Stanford University, an Air Force veteran, and. has worked as a teacher and coach, an assistant principal, a principal, chair of the Academic Decathlon Team, club advisor, assistant superintendent, and superintendent, . In June, 2010, he will retire after 35 years as an educator, the last 20 years in Escalon.
