Effective 1 March 2007, Rotary International has a new insurance broker, Lockton Companies, who will be handling certificate of insurance requests and answering your insurance coverage questions.

Lockton Companies can be contacted 8:30 am-4:30 pm CST, Monday - Friday at:

Phone: (800) 921-3172
E-mail: rotary@lockton.com

The process for creating a certificate of insurance has changed.  Please read the Certificate of Insurance Instructions.

The Rotary U.S. Club & District General Liability Insurance Program ("Program") provides coverage for active clubs and districts (including Rotarians and volunteers in their roles as such for the club or district) for their liability arising out of bodily injury to a third party (a person who is not an insured under this Program) or damage to a third party's property (subject to policy terms and conditions). To find out more about the Program please download Coverage Details.

Certificate of Insurance

A Certificate of Insurance is a document that details the insurance coverage in place at the time the certificate is issued. It includes the type of coverage, the insurance companies providing coverage, and the dates and limits of coverage.

New Certificate of Insurance Process

A new certificate of insurance process has been developed that will allow Rotarians to create a certificate of insurance right from their desktop. For instructions on creating a certificate please refer to Creating a Certificate of Insurance Instructions.

If further assistance is needed, please contact Lockton Companies toll free at (800) 921-3172.

Claims

In the event of, or as soon as you become aware of a claim, occurrence or a situation that may give rise to a claim, please follow steps outlined in Claim Reporting Guidelines.

To report a claim, please complete a Claim Report Form to the best of your ability. Fax or email completed form to Rotary’s Risk Management Department.

Contracts, Permits and Waivers

Before you sign a permit or enter into a contract, you may want to read Contracts, Permits, and Waivers. Often the indemnification & insurance provisions contained in contracts and other legal documents include inappropriate language that contradicts the coverage provided through the Program.

Loss Control Guidelines

Are you having a pancake breakfast? Sponsoring a parade or 5K race? Holding a fundraising event? Do you know what you can do to prevent or minimize the effect of claims that may occur at these and similar functions? Look into Loss Control Guidelines for some suggested measures to help prevent and reduce the frequency and severity of potential claims.

See Managing Special Event Risks for ten steps that will help your club plan, prepare for and run a safe event!
