Foundation

World Community Service has been described as the "quiet revolution of hope."

Isn't it time for you to:

… Reach out to someone who needs help.

… Develop a relationship with a club in another country.

… Become acquainted with the customs and culture of a faraway place

.… Get involved in a WCS project?

See the Foundation Section for information on Matching Grant Applications.

We have many clubs in the district, individually, and in partnership with others, participating in a variety of projects to benefit the world community.

Here are the current projects that include matching grants.

bullet Nearly 1.3 billion people — more than one-fifth of the world's population — live in extreme poverty on little more than US$1 a day.
bullet Some 840 million people — one out of every seven worldwide — are malnourished.
bullet Although the world produces plenty of food, it is not getting to those who need it most.
bullet When the health and productivity of a nation declines, it is vulnerable to economic and social hardship and political instability.
