Disease Prevention and Treatment
We educate and equip communities to stop the spread of life-threatening diseases. Rotary members have hundreds of health projects underway around the world at any given time.
Peace and Conflict Resolution
By carrying out service projects and supporting peace fellowships and scholarships, our members take action to address the underlying causes of conflict, including poverty, discrimination, ethnic tension, lack of access to education, and unequal distribution of resources.
Clean Water and Sanitation
When people have access to clean water and sanitation, waterborne diseases decrease, children stay healthier and attend school more regularly, and mothers can spend less time carrying water and more time helping their families.
Maternal and Child Health
Rotary makes high-quality health care available to vulnerable mothers and children so they can live longer and grow stronger.
Basic Education and Literacy
Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy. We support education for all children and literacy for children and adults.
Rotarians in District 5220 provide dictionaries to 3rd graders, engage in Read In’s in their local elementary schools, donate scholarship funds to high school seniors, give away backpacks and school supplies, hold annual speech contests, and provide mentoring and leadership opportunities, and more.
Economic and Community Development
We create opportunities to help individuals and communities thrive financially and socially.
Supporting the Environment
We are committed to supporting activities that strengthen the conservation and protection of natural resources, advance ecological sustainability, and foster harmony between communities and the environment.
Rotarians plant trees, do neighborhood cleanups, refurbrish parks and playgrounds, and keep highways free from litter.
